Rainbow Rogues offers open access counselling and family support to children, young people, adults and families in Kingswells. No referral, diagnosis or threshold assessment is required to get in touch.
What Kind Of Support Are You Looking For?
Pick an option to see how it works. You do not need to know exactly which one applies to you before getting in touch.
Support That Starts With Understanding
Kingswells has grown quickly on the western edge of Aberdeen, and many families here are still building their local support network. We are here when it matters most, whether that is a first conversation or ongoing family support.
Support can be arranged in person or online, so families in Kingswells, Sheddocksley, Cults and Peterculter can access the same open, unhurried approach.
Accessible
Support should be easy to reach when people need it, without unnecessary barriers.
Person-Centred
We listen to each person's experiences, needs and strengths.
Family-Centred
We recognise that families often need practical, emotional and community based support.
Child-Centred
We create safe, understanding spaces where children can feel accepted and supported.

Tell us a little about what is going on, in your own words. There is no need to have it all figured out first.
We Listen And Explain Your Options
We talk through what support is available, including part funded or fully funded sessions if you meet the relevant criteria.
Choose What Works For You
Support can be arranged in person or online, at times that fit around school, work and family life.

Frequently Asked Questions
If your question is not here, get in touch and ask. We would rather answer it now than have you put off getting in touch.
Do I Need A Referral Or Diagnosis?
No. Community Counselling and Family Support are both open access. There is no referral, diagnosis or threshold assessment required before getting in touch.
How Much Does Counselling Cost?
Standard counselling is £60 per session. Where funding allows, part funded sessions are available for £30, and a limited number of fully funded sessions may be available for people who meet the relevant criteria. You do not need to work out which option applies before contacting us.
Is Family Support Only For Families With A Diagnosed Condition?
No. Family Support is for any family who needs someone to listen, understand their circumstances and help navigate the challenges they are facing, whether or not a diagnosis is involved.
Can Support Be Provided Online?
Yes. Both counselling and family support sessions can be arranged online as well as in person, so support fits around your family rather than the other way round.
What Ages Do You Support?
Counselling is available for children, young people and adults. Family Support works with whole families, including parents, carers and siblings.
Do You Offer Anything For Children To Attend Themselves?
Yes. Alongside counselling and family support, our Connect & Grow groups give children with additional support needs the chance to take part in inclusive activities and build confidence with others.
Can Families In Kingswells Access Support Without Needing To Travel Into The City Centre?
Yes. Support is arranged flexibly, including online sessions, so families in Kingswells and the surrounding west Aberdeen area are not limited to city centre appointments.
